On the interaction between a diffraction shock wave and a cylindrical sulfur hexafluoride bubble

The evolution of a cylindrical sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) bubble in the flow accelerated by nonuniform diffraction shock is investigated using density-based compressible OpenFOAM solver. generated from an initial planar with Mach number 2.2 rectangular barrier, and influence barrier height on gas analyzed detail both qualitatively quantitatively. results show that increasing height, becomes weaker propagates more slowly, which alters shape undisturbed zone inside bubble. slender, focusing occurs at later time. local high-pressure point formed intersection transmitted shocks case can enhance pressure during focusing. In addition, intensity vortex pairs distorted as increases. highest propagation velocity pair emerging behind deformed incident subsonic, contrast to supersonic found for other heights. although heights considered here increase evenly sequence, degree reduction larger.
